In Japanese, “Kumo” means “Clouds.” Danny Lin, the executive chef and owner, named his new Upper West Side restaurant, Kumo Sushi, in the hopes that his delectable dishes will emulate the loftiness of being on a “Kumo.” Kumo is located in the heart of Upper West Side, appealing to both locals and visitors alike. By offering fresh ingredients and uncompromising service, Lin looks forward to presenting the best that he has to offer to the toughest critics.
Kumo Sashimi—Five pieces each of tuna, yellowtail and salmon
Sake Don—Raw salmon over rice in a bowl
Sushi Sashimi for Two—Ten pieces of sushi, fifteen pieces of sashimi, one dragon roll and one sweet heart roll
Hudson River Roll—Spicy tuna and soft shell crab with tobiko
Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura—Served with miso soup or salad and rice
Teriyaki Combo—Chicken, beef and shrimp teriyaki served with miso soup or salad and rice
Ordered the unagi don (came with a side salad) and veg tempura -- portions were great, and the delivery arrived faster than the estimated time window. Definitely worth it!

Delivery time is accurate. They messed up my order and I wasn't going to complain but they came back about 20 minutes later with the correct roll. Thoroughly surprised and excited to see them do this. A little expensive though.

Delivery man showed up 15 mins late after having called to yell at me for not being home. Turns out he was on the wrong block. Received no apology. Food was ok at best.

Mismarked rolls led to me getting a gross tempura mush roll - for $13. Tenzan is waaay more worth the prices, and worth having to speak to a real person.

I have been coming to this place since I was 8 years old(I am now 29) back then it used to be Kinoko sushi. It was excellent sushi and later the owners changed and they did some renovations but the sushi qaulity stayed the same. Also, the most amazing thing I noticed is that their spicy rolls have the same flavor and "zing" the old Kinoko had. This is amazing because I think they are the best spicy rolls in the city!

I want to like Kumo more than I do but honestly I just can't. The prices can't be beat but the flavors and freshness sure can.

This was the worst sushi I have ever ordered. The kani salad had a very funny taste to it and I wound up tossing it. Stay away.

Sushi is always fresh and delicious. Delivery is always quick. They have excellent rolls, but their simple sashimi dish is always dependable. Chirashi is a great choice as well.

Two experiences with cooked dishes were delivered with good quality. The vegetables were abundant and fresh, and there was no gloppy flavor (as I have come to expect from the bad/worse/atrocious chinese places on seamless). I haven't been brave enough to try the raw fish. However, it was not encouraging that the California roll I ordered came with default rice on the outside (instead of seaweed as requested). My concern is that they have prepared sushi sitting in a fridge. And if I want that, I'll just go to Fairway.

Really good, fast, inexpensive option. I see that in other reviews people mention the freshness of the fish. I used to live across the street from this place and got sushi all the time and it was great. But honestly, I don't think I've ordered it for delivery because I'm addicted to the Chicken Yaki Udon. Also, their edamame is never soggy, unlike many other delivery places.

Lacks flavor and very small sushi rolls.

The food was inedible. I ordered several rolls, including the spicy salmon and spicy tuna, which all looked slimy and unappetizing. They tasted worse than they looked. The fish is not fresh and the order was not even correct. I had to throw out the entire order it was so disgusting and order from somewhere else. I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant - a huge waste of money.

Pretty unfresh fish, and the rice seemed more chinese than japanese. Not saying that this wasn't an off night, but certainly will look elsewhere next time for sushi in the area. The soy sauce also tasted weird.

I had the shrimp soba. Delivery took almost an hour. The food was edible, nothing special. One good thing was that the shrimp tasted fresh, and they were generous with the amount of shrimp they gave. However, the soup was rather tasteless and the soba noodles were rather grainy.

I love this place...the sushi is very good and fresh...One of the best option in the upper west side, in terms of quality and price ratio. Strongly recommended
